THE National Oversight Committee (NOC) will today deliberate on a recommendation paper prepared by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education for the proposed plan to recommence schools nation-wide.
This was revealed by the Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) and Chairman of the National Oversight Committee (NOC) Dr. Jimmie Rodgers during Sunday’s weekly talk-back show.
He said the Ministry of Health and Medical Services along with the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development have completed a recommendation paper for the start of the 2022 academic year.
“It’s going to be discussed by the National Oversight Committee (NOC) tomorrow (today) before it is being submitted to Cabinet for further deliberation,” said the SPM.
Schools nation-wide have been unable to start the 2022 academic year since the COVID outbreak two months.
Classes were supposed to start six weeks ago.
Since then most students and staff are still stuck in the villages and schools.
Most are hoping schools can resume in a month or so to allow most of our children the opportunity to get back to classes.
Following Cabinet’s deliberation, the nation will know when classes will resume and measures that will be undertaken.
