AFTER spending several days with his people of Southeast Vella Constituency, Western Province Member of Parliament (MP) Fredrick Koloqeto has successfully concluded his visit.
He arrived on Wednesday and successfully conducted a number of consultations with his people and made visits to project sites.
Part of the consultation was to inform communities of his intention to construct new bridges, roads and a number of infrastructures.
During his tour he also visited two new clinics funded by tax payers which are currently making progress.
The clinics once completed will help to provide medical services to the rural population.
The tour also allowed the MP and his team to visit the Vella La Vella Development Corporation (VDC) which will act as an economic growth centre for the constituency.
The centre will feature a number of services such as a police station, copra buying centre, copra crushing mill, shops, fisheries centre, medical centre, wharves and other services.
Work on the centre is making progress which has pleased the MP.
Under the MP’s plan the newly constructed roads and bridges will allow the farmers to connect and to transport their products to the growth centre which will act like a small urban centre.
During the visit the MP was able to brief all the landowners, tribal members, leaders, chiefs, community leaders and communities of his intention to develop the constituency.
He also highlighted a number of projects earmarked for the constituency during his term in office.
Many members of the communities have expressed their support to the plan and their desire to see a change happening in their communities.
The MP was accompanied by a team of engineers, technical experts, financial officers and other government officials.
The tour ended over the weekend.
