DEAR EDITOR,
Aristotle who was one of the renowned Greek Philosopher said man is by nature a political animal. That is why today it is not surprised to point out that politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them. Is it because in politics, nothing moves unless it’s pushed? I fear you may turn it out to be an art of postponing decisions until they are no longer relevant. This is because idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.
I wonder why if the United States, Australia or Britain is having elections, they don’t ask for observers from Solomon Islands or Vanuatu. But when we have elections, they want observers.
May be because they come into our country that is said to be free and to their surprise to sight corruption and starvation. But why we have being told many years ago that our country is free. May be because it is not real. I don’t understand why but I fear our country is being remote controlled.
This is because politics makes strange bed-fellows in which giving money and power to government is like giving whisky and car keys to teenage boys.
That is why in politics, you have your words and your friends; go back either and you’re dead. Therefore, I wish all political parties should die at last of swallowing their own lies.
