TEACHERS who are yet to get their second Covid-19 vaccine are reportedly still receiving their fortnight salaries despite of the imposed No Jab No Job policy.
Reports reaching Solomon star Auki said a good number of teachers who are unvaccinated and those who are yet to be fully vaccinated are still receiving full salaries.
The grace period for unvaccinated government employees’ lapsed at the end of April this year, meaning that those who are yet to get their vaccination or not fully vaccinated should be self-terminated from employment.
This has raised questions and concerns to those who were terminated due to the No jab no job policy.
Disappointed citizens who were affected by the No jab, No job Policy believed that most unvaccinated senior government employees including teachers are still employed.
One teacher who wants to remain anonymous said the policy is an unfair decision the government impose targeting only few while others are still decided not to comply with the policy.
He added that the action taken by the government to terminated not-fully unvaccinated government employees is not fully implemented, the fact that few unvaccinated are still employed and receiving their full salaries.
He said most teachers is Malaita province were reported not fully vaccinated, however they are still employed and resumed their duties at their respective postings.
Chief Education officer for Malaita Province Education Authority Andy Siarani said the decision concerning imposing No Jab No Job policy on teachers depends on the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
