THE Leader of the Opposition Mathew Wale has doubted that the current Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare has time to deal with the Townsville Peace Agreement (TPA).
Speaking as the guest speaker at the Malaita 39th second appointed day in Auki Monday this week, Mr Wale said the current PM has been holding on to the PM post for the past 12-13 years but has not done anything about the TPA.
He said even if the DCGA wants to extend the life of parliament for another 10 years they will not deal with the TPA.
He said TPA was signed 21 years ago in 2000 where if the current PM is serious about the TPA he should have done something about it a long time ago.
The Malaita People’s Log of Claims also made mention of the TPA particularly to PART 4 SECTION 1 (a).
With that, the Leader of the Opposition said the destiny of this country is in the hands of the people and the provinces, and not the caucus and cabinet.
He then encouraged people to vote wisely in the coming election to decide the destiny of this country moving forward.
