THE Ministry of Health and Medical Service (MHMS) is encouraging people to complete their COVID-19 doses to protect them from future outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
It also encourages people to get their booster doses before travelling out to other countries because they still want fully vaccinated travellers to enter their country.
The MHMS Undersecretary Health Improvement and Incident Controller in a recent press conference said they still encourage people to complete their second doses or even get their booster doses.
“We encourage people to come back to complete their doses and also take the booster dose,” he told local media.
He said vaccination stops the severity of diseases.
“When you reduce the severity of disease, it will alleviate the pressure that will happen in the health system,” he said.
He added that they still detect COVID-19 cases in vessels that travel in the country, but they apply COVID-19 strict orders to the vessels while in the country.
At the airport the MHMS surveillance team is been set up to screen all passengers travelling into the country.
The country has lifted its 75 hours mandatory PCR tests for incoming passengers.
Various communities in the provinces still practice COVID-19 measures like washing of hands and promoting cleanliness and more.
MHMS still wants people to practice COVID-19 measures despite the lifting of all the COVID-19 measures.
