MALAITA Deputy Premier, Glen Waneta, has labelled the visit by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare to the northern region of the province this week as ‘not by mistake.’
Speaking at the ground breaking-ceremony for the Suafa Bay Economic Growth Centre in Lau-Mbaelelea Constituency on Tuesday, Mr Waneta shared a message about ‘compass.’
The Deputy Premier used the illustration of a compass to underscore how important is North Malaita to Malaita Province and Solomon Islands, adding that it was not by mistake that the Prime Minister and his delegation visited North Malaita to check the position of Solomon Islands.
The Deputy Premier also reminded the Member of Parliament for North Malaita, Senley Filualea and MP for Lau-Mbaelelea, Augustine Auga, about the importance of igniting development in Malaita, starting in North Malaita.
“Mr Prime Minister and your powerful delegation, it is not by mistake that you come to North Malaita to check the position of this nation, especially in the new season and time. Check the North and you will find the position of this nation.
“MP for North Malaita, Seneley Filualea and MP for Lau Mbaelelea, Augustine Auga, whatever we want to demonstrate for this nation, must begin in North Malaita.”
“I believe that in this new season, we must be positive.”
