FOUR men accused of separate sexual offences and rape in Isabel Province have been remanded in the Honiara Magistrate’s Court this morning.
The men aged 38, 46, 60 and 69 years old are facing charges of indecent assault and rape.
They were brought in from Isabel yesterday and appear at the Honiara Magistrate’s Court this morning and were remanded until February 3.
That is when they will return to the court again.
Two alleged victims in this matter are women with disability while the other two are young children aged 11 and 12 at the time of the offences.
The 38-year-old accused is facings five counts of rape on which he allegedly raped his close relative on different dates between 2018 and 2021.
Most of the incident occurred when the alleged victim was asleep inside her family house.
The alleged victim is now a 16-year-old girl attending form two at a Secondary School in Isabel Province.
Police charged the second accused, a 46-year-old man with one count of rape – with a person with disability.
The alleged victim was 21 years of age at the time of offence.
She was having her shower behind their family kitchen when the accused came, grabbed her, and pulled her down the valley where he allegedly raped her.
The alleged incident occurred last year.
Another accused is a 60-year-old man who was charged with three counts of Indecent Act with a person with significant disability.
The victim who is the biological daughter of the accused is now 31 years of age.
The alleged incident happened between 2014 and 2017.
The eldest of the three accused, a 69 year-old man was charged with indecent act, of which, he allegedly committed on his granddaughter.
His granddaughter was 11 years of age when the incident occurred last year.
