SCHOOLS in Malaita Province have stated the 2023 academic year this week and the Malaita Education Authority (MEA) is calling on its teachers who are yet to return to their work stations to do so immediately.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, MEA Chief Education Officer (CEO), Andy Siarani said this year will be a short academic year and this requires teachers to plan ahead and execute their programmes within the required time frame.
CEO Siarani said few schools have already started this week and will be on full swing by next week.
He said a short academic year requires teachers to perform to their best to ensure they live up to their expectations and fulfill their responsibilities as teachers.
The CEO said teacher postings for the 2023 academic year remains the same, except for a few adjustments.
He then called on teachers to show commitment and lead by example in their work stations during this new academic year.
All schools in the country are expected to end the academic year before the Pacific Games which the country will host in November this year.
