MJAMS, an online music application service launched in the country in 2018 is proposing to host a music awards event this year, it was revealed.
According to mJams, they are planning to host the first ever mJams music awards in Honiara in December.
This will be the first ever such musical award event in Honiara and Solomon Islands and it is expected to bring together local artists from across the country.
mJams said the music awards will cover a wide range of categories and will be based on your (Artists) within the mJams App.
Below are the categories in which artists and producers can win awards:

mJams Best Female Artist of the year
mJams Best Male Artist of the year
mJams Best HipHop artist of the year
mJams Best Gospel of the year
mJams Best R&B of the year
mJams Best Island Reggae Artist of the year
mjams Best Producer of the year
mjams Best Rookie of the year
mJams Best song of the year
mJams Best Music Video of the year
mJams Best People’s Choice of the year
“This is the first time that mJams will hold such an event, recognising the accomplishments of local artists.
“mJams is dedicated to supporting and promoting the Solomon Islands music scene by providing a platform for artists to earn income, while entrusting them with their music,” mJams said in a recent statement.
mJams is a fresh new mobile online music application service featuring the hottest artists, albums and tracks by Solomon Islands musicians.
The online platform was launched back in 2018. It is one of a kind in the Pacific as only Solomon Islands and Tonga offer such music online application through which over 400 Pacific Island artists promote their music and earn royalties.
Some Solomon Islands artists on mJams are Young Davie, Jnr Elexter, Bibao, Jarol Lokol Arau Lingus, Onetox, B Try, Ismuki, Young Soulja, Lanna and Sharzy.
