SOLTUNA Limited based out of Noro, Western Province has continued to recognise its employees who have served the company for twenty years and staff who have achieved 100 percent attendance.
As of 2022 nine out of its 2000 employees have served the company through thick and thin over the past twenty years.
Most of them joined the company in 2002 working in various departments.
And its been a custom for the company under the leadership of the outgoing general manager Jim Alexander to acknowledged these hard working and dedicated staff.
On Monday in a colourful ceremony that also coincided with a ‘welcome back lunch’ and the formal farewelling of the outgoing GM, these employees were recognised.
Mr Alexander had been captaining SolTuna for ten years and one of the incentives to encourage staff commitment to serve the company is to recognise those who worked faithfully over the past twenty years.
Of the nine, one is a female who joined the company in 2002.
Some of the men joined the company when it started off as SolTai and continued to serve.
Most of them worked in various departments such as the finance/accounts, operations, quality control and engineering.
As part of their awards, these nine staff were awarded certificates and monetary rewards.
A black coat of recognition bearing the name ‘SolTuna’ was also provided to the recipients.

Apart from recognising the long serving staff, SolTuna was able to host a ceremony to acknowledge employees who have never missed work at all during their duties except when they are sick throughout last year – 2022.
A good number of staff have been awarded certificates and cash of $1000 during the award ceremony on Monday.
The certificate reads; ‘In Recognition for maintaining perfect attendance throughout the entire scheduled days of work in 2022.’
A good number of staff from various departments received the awards.
One of the recipients Emma Kalena from Choiseul who started work last year as a grounds lady for the general manager’s home was also recognised.
She told the paper that she was happy to receive the award. With the award, it encourages her to continue serve the company and be faithful in her work.
She thanked SolTuna for the recognition.

During the awards presentation, the management spoke highly of the staff who have served the company for the past twenty years.
The management also thanked those who continue to be faithful in their duties every year.
Chairman of SolTuna Board Adrian Wickham said, the awards presentation program is part of the company’s incentive to recognise staff who have achieved 100 percent work attendance.
“If you attend work 100 percent you get monetary rewards.
“When a staff reach 20 years in service we award them to recognise them,” he told the paper in an interview on Monday.
Two of recipients told the paper that they will continue to serve the company because of the working environment and support from the company.
