FIVE of the students from Vanuatu who recently arrived in the country to undertake nursing studies are with the Seventh-day Adventist-owned Atoifi Nursing College in East Kwaio, Malaita Province.
The five students who arrived in the country earlier this month have settled down at the college. They were accompanied to Atoifi by a Solomon Islands nursing tutor at the School of Nursing in Vanuatu, Neverlyn Gamasi.
The five students are studying for a bachelor in nursing, a four-year nursing programme offered by the college.
Atoifi Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO), William Baefua, confirmed that the five students from Vanuatu have safely arrived and have now settled down in their new study environment.
Mr Baefua said the school management was happy to welcome the students as they begin their study programme.
He said the students have expressed delight to come and study with Solomon Islanders at the Atoifi Nursing College for the next four years.
“They are here at the Atoifi College of Nursing which offers the Pacific Adventist University’s pre-service Bachelor in Nursing programme,” Mr Baefua added.
Mr Baefua said the Atoifi Nursing School has hosted nursing students from Vanuatu in the past years.
