Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare MP was at the airport this morning to farewell the Governor General Sir David Vunagi who left the country to attend the coronation of King Charles III in England.
Joining the Prime Minister to farewell Sir David were the Speaker of National Parliament, Hon. Patteson Oti, the Chief Justice Sir Albert Rocky Palmer and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, honourable Jeremiah Manele.
Governor General Sir David Vunagi is accompanied by Lady Mary Vunagi and four officials.
Sir David will witness the coronation of King Charles III at the Westminster Abbey on 6th May.
As a member of the Commonwealth, Solomon Islands recognised King Charles III as the Head of State and he is represented in the country by the Governor General.
