DEAR EDITOR,
Please allow me to say something that has been affecting people who live in Honiara for more than decades. One can tell that there are new technologies advancing every year and I believe there are new inventory for water systems that may help solve problem of water being turned off when it is raining and flooding and the water is full of dirt. There were times in big celebration periods like Easter or Christmas; people were frustrated because there was no water for cooking etc.
Every living thing on earth need water, the plants, animals and we human being are not exceptional. It is our right as human being to have access to safe and clean drinking water whenever needed. This issue of water shortage during wet seasons is a common challenges faced by residents in Honiara and hope Solomon Water authority is taking full responsibility in finding way to solve this issue without having to turn water supply off. Especially when the pacific game is drawing near it is very crucial water must be available within this period.
