THE Technical Institute of Malaita (TIM) successfully held its 8th graduation ceremony in Auki on Friday.
The 8th graduation ceremony was the biggest since the establishment of the institution and it saw 64 students graduated with diplomas and certificates.
Of the 64 graduates, six students graduated with certificates in Public Health, three graduated with diplomas in Complimentary Medicine and Public Health, two graduated with diplomas in Business and Management and the rest with certificates in Malaria Microscopy.
Speaking at the graduation, the TIM Director, Bernard Bakote’e encouraged graduands to use their qualifications to go further into their future.
Mr Bakote’e also thanked them for choosing TIM to their studies.
“To the graduates, what you have achieved is an academic achievement.
“It is meant for you to use it to go further into your future.”
“Some graduates use their training to get jobs, others use it to go further in their education, others use it to help them improve in what they are doing and others use it to help them to be entrepreneurs.
“Whichever way you choose, we have given our best. Use what you have gained at TIM for a better future for you. TIM would like to thank you all graduates for choosing TIM as an institute to study.
“For most of you it has been three long years that you have been with us. We have been family together and it is sad to see you depart also. Those who have attended short courses, it has been a great challenge for you, but we admire your determination and commitment,” Mr Bakote’e said.
“May God bless you as you journey on into your future.
“TIM will always be there. Our door is always open whenever you need help. The smiles that the lecturers gave you when you were here will still be given to you when you appear at the door.
“TIM is proud to have contributed to your future. When we see graduates from TIM become successful in life, we feel so proud of them. Every graduate from TIM is our pride and their successes our reward,” The TIM Director added.
The graduation ceremony was witnessed by the Pro Chancellor of the Solomon Islands National University, Dr Morgan Wairiu, Malaita Deputy Premier, Joe Heroau, SSEC Education Authority representative, Javin Rukia, MPA for Ward 29, Felix Bosokuru and Parents and relatives of the graduating students.
