A RUGBY tournament for rugby clubs in Auki is set for July15th at the Fiu Rugby Field in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita.
The rugby tournament was initially proposed for this weekend but has been postponed for Saturday July 15th to give more time for five participating teams to prepare for the tournament.
The tournament is organised purposely to scout for players for the Malaita Subi rugby team that will compete in the upcoming National Rugby Sevens Tournament in Honiara next month.
“Rugby clubs Auki tigers, Akan, Ailako, Kwaibala and AYC are reminded that the proposed 7s rugby tournament for this weekend is now deferred to 15th July at the Fiu Rugby Field.
“The purpose of the competition is to identify and select some potential rugby players to join the Malaita Subi rugby Squad for the upcoming National 7s in Honiara on the 8,9,10 August 2023,” they said.
The tournament is for both men and women.
