Pirione made the call of encouragement during the Makira-Ulawa Second Appointed Day celebration held at the Rove Police field last Friday.
He said he is confident that Makira-Ulawa Province will help avail its people to help the country host its first ever Pacific Games.
“You are aware that bigger events are coming ahead of us, this includes the Pacific Games and the general elections.
“The Government is surely committed and is working really hard to ensure that we host one of the most successful sporting events in the region.
“The upcoming Games cost millions of dollars and let me encourage all of us to be friendly and to provide the best hospitality to our brothers and sisters from the Pacific region.
“I am confident the Province will contribute a lot as well, in availing its good people to participate in the Games and to win medals for Solomon Islands.
“I am sure that we will host a Pacific Games that strengthens friendship and cordial relationship among Pacific countries and their people,” he said.
The same call was made to all other provinces in the country.
