THE Gizo Rugby Association (GRA) has expressed appreciation to its major sponsors for their unwavering support during the weeklong Rugby Sevens League held in Honiara last month.
This acknowledgment comes as a testament to the collaborative efforts that made the event a resounding success.
The GRA was particularly grateful to the following sponsors, whose assistance played a pivotal role in facilitating the team’s participation in the tournament:
- A-Plus Shop
- LP Shop
- Chan Cooperation
- Mr. Farming
- GF Shop Gizo,
- Solomon Airlines Manager
- Mr Craig
- Jimson Tanaganda
- HN Store
- John Zala Hickson
- Head Coach of Bellona Province Eric Matangi
GRA Team Manager Alex Karanga told Star Sports yesterday of his heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors for their invaluable support.
Mr Karanga said the support they received from these sponsors ensured success throughout their stay in Honiara.
“We were able to navigate our way to the bowl finals and secured the 6th position.
“However, our journey wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our major sponsors.”
Mr Karanga added that the Rugby Sevens League in Honiara served as a platform for showcasing talent, fostering sportsmanship and promoting rugby.
He said the GRA’s commendable performance and sportsmanship were a testament to the dedication of the players and the strong support network that rallied behind them.
“The GRA remains committed to promoting the sport of rugby and looks forward to future opportunities to collaborate with its sponsors and continue making strides in the world of rugby,” Mr Karanga said.
Due to lack of a rugby sports ground, the association was unable to organise its own league in Gizo.
