SOLOMON Islands Team karate is doing well in its preparation for the Sol2023 Pacific Games at the High-Performance Centre – Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS) under the guidance of Sensei Nicholas Naudy from Australia.
Mr Naudy from Goshukan Karate Academy in Gold Coast in Queensland was here to help them improve on their skills.
Mr Naudy spoke to Star Sports last Thursday about Team Karate’s preparation for the games.
“This week will be the last session that I will be helping the Solomon Islands Karate Federation (SIKF) with before I travel back Australia on Sunday 12November 2023. I will not be here with the Team Karate during the Pacific Games due to other commitments but am wishing the team the very best in their games.”
Mr Naudy said he has observed on his third coming to Solomon Islands to train Team Karate that they have improved and he has confidence that they will represent the country well in their tournaments.
“I am happy to see how well Team Karate is moving up and yes, they are really improving. I think they are going to smash the tournaments coming up and I am really stoked to be part of their training,” he said.
SIKF, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to have Mr Naudy here with them during their trials and said they really enjoyed their training sessions with him.
