SEVEN Filipino women who are currently working and living in Honiara participated in the Sol2023 Pacific Games ‘Opening Ceremony’ at the National Stadium, KGVI, Sunday night.
They were among Dreamcast Team that performed at the opening ceremony.
Elsa Gonzales said, she feel honored to be part of PG23 opening ceremony.
She said, she and other Filipino women in Honiara have sacrificed their time by taking excuse letters from their employers to participate in every practice organized by Dreamcast Team.
“We exert our effort, patience and most of all build this good comrade between our members.
“So amazing, it turns out so good and successful, I am grateful they allow us to join and be part of the team.
“I am also proud of Solomon Islands government and to all who supported the PG23 games.
“As we challenge, we celebrate and we unite.
“This is our time, this is the moment for Solomon Islands to shine up high,” she said.
She said they joined the Zumba Team that represents the green paddle, other performers represent the yellow and blue paddle.
The three paddles represented by different dancers were on the logo of the PG23 that Dreamcast had showcased during the electrifying and epic PG23 opening ceremony.
These Filipino women were excited to represent Solomon Islands which they called their second home country.
