SOLOMON Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Academy President Donald Marahare underscored that the handing over of SIFF Facility to SIFF Academy has marked a new era of football development in Solomon Islands.
He was speaking on Thursday at the official handing over of the football academy from the government.
This new academy is much bigger than the old Allan Boso Complex where SIFF has been operating before the complex was destroyed to make the way for the development of the sport city now.
“What we witnessed today is the beginning of the new era in football development as this facility will truly transform the football landscape of this country.
“The federation take ownership of this facility with greater responsibility.
“We now have a bigger home much bigger home than the Allan Boso Complex,” he said.
He added the Federation is excited to have the ownership of the facility.
“The federation is very excited to have the ownership of the facility,” he said.
Now that SIFF Academy has a new home, SIFF President boldly stated that there will be no excuses for SIFF in developing football in the country.
“There will be no excuses this time.
“As the custodian of the football sport in this country, the federation will work together closely with stakeholder to ensure that this facility will become a conveyor belt of the next generation of footballers excellence.
“I am optimistic that the scheduling and usage this facility will optimise and enhance football participation and that to not distance future we will see the talent emerging into our national team,” he said.
He also acknowledges his predecessors and former SIFF president Willian Lai for negotiating the new facility with the Solomon Islands Government.

“We thank you to convince the government to invest in this sport facility.
“The former president and your executive deserve to be acknowledge for the excellent leadership during your term in the office
“Thank you Willie Lai and your team,” he further added.
SIFF President Donald Marahare now takes up the challenge to maintain the facility to the highest level.
“I appreciate the challenges and maintenance of this facility and in this regard the federation will make sure that the facility maintain and continue to be maintaining at the highest level and standard,” he said.
