ONE of the major Political Parties in the country is set to officially launch its manifesto next week in the Western Province.
The manifesto launch will be staged in the Provincial Capital Gizo and the port town of Noro.
According to the launch schedule, the first one will be held on Monday 26 February in Gizo and the second in Noro on Tuesday 27 February.
In a statement issued to Solomon Star last weekend, Our Party said:
“Yes, Western Province launch is on the 26th February at Gizo and 27th February at Noro.”
At the launch, Caretaker Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare will be present along with Party officials.
“Yes, the Caretaker Prime Minister, who is also the Parliamentary Wing Leader, will be attending the two launching events along with Party officials.”
Jimson Tanangada is the OUR Party President. His wife, the former Gizo-Kolombangara Member of Parliament (MP) Lanelle Tanangada is a member of OUR Party.
A number of intending candidates in Western Province are expected to join the manifesto launching events.
Next week’s launching comes after the party’s successful colourful launch in Honiara.
The launching held on Thursday 8 February started with a parade from Multi-Purpose Hall to Maranatha Hall in East Honiara.
It is understood that a similar launch is also expected in Ranoggah where one intending candidate is a member of OUR Party.
Preparation on the island is underway.
OUR is the abbreviation for ‘Ownership, Unity, Responsibility’ and the party president Mr Tanangada said OUR is a beacon of hope and unity.
“National Ownership, Unity and Responsibility’ are not just a mere slogan.
“They are in fact the core principles driving every decision that the OUR Party-led Coalition Government thrived on.
“No government has delivered more game changing and transformative projects and reforms and in the most difficult times than the OUR Party led DCGA,” Mr Tanangada said at the Honiara launch.
