Vote counting for Isabel Province starts on Friday according to the Election Manager Rex Manasseh.
The Election Manager said counting for Gao/Bugotu, Hograno/Kia/Havulei and Maringe/ Kokota constituencies will commence as early as 7am tomorrow.
Mr Manasseh said the delay was necessary due to the electoral counting procedure which involves verification.
He said police and polling officers have successfully retrieved all ballot boxes from all constituencies in Isabel.
“Ballot boxes were retrieved with security support from the Royal Solomon Islands police in Buala,” he said.
The province has over 22,000 registered voters casted their votes to elect their Members of Parliament and Provincial Members.
A total of 345 polling officials have been engaged to man all polling stations across the province.
Meanwhile the first result for Isabel Province was already declared by the Returning Officer and SIEC CEO Jasper Highwood Anisi, after candidate for Tirotonga ward was nominated unopposed.
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) is an independent Constitutional Electoral Management Body that is responsible for voter registration and the conduct of elections at the Parliamentary, Provincial Assemblies, and Honiara City Council levels.
