A NEW dive shop has opened its doors at Lambete Station, Munda, South New Georgia, Western Province, last week providing more opportunities for locals and tourists to enjoy scuba diving in the region.
The opening of the ‘Solomon Pro Fishing & Dive Shop,’ drew a crowd of hundreds who were eager to explore what this latest investment has to offer.
At the opening ceremony, the first 100 people who appeared for the opening got a free T-Shirt each.
In an interview with Solomon Star last weekend, the owner of Solomon Pro, Daniel Duke expressed immense enthusiasm about launching the new Dive Shop in Munda which he said aims to make quality products accessible to locals and tourists alike.
“My main goal in opening this Dive Shop is to serve the people of Munda and cater for the needs of tourists who visit our beautiful town,” Duke explained.
“We are committed to offering top-notch products that ensure longevity and satisfaction for our customers,” he added.
Duke’s connection with Munda dates back to 1998 when he befriended a local named Sika (also known as Sycamore Bea) during their childhood years.
Originally from Cairns, Australia, Mr Duke return to Solomon Islands was motivated by a desire to reconnect with the family and community that had captured his heart.
“After years of laughter and camaraderie, Sika and I embarked on this new adventure with Solomon Pro Fishing & Dive Shop.
“This place is more than just a store. It’s a place where connections are made and we hope visitors find their lasting connection in this wonderful country,” Mr Duke added.
Products displayed at the new shop includes fishing scuba gears, spear fishing gears, Bluetooth speakers, Haviana slippers, eskies, ice and other varieties of products.
The reopening of Munda International Airport adds to the optimism for investors, particularly in light of the Western Province’s growing popularity as a tourist hotspot.
