THE MALAITA Provincial Premier Elijah Asilaua has appealed to ‘hardworking’ farmers in Malaita to be ‘recommitted’ to contribute towards ensuring the prosperity of the populous province.
Premier Asilaua made the appeal at the recommissioning of the Solomon Commodities Copra and Cocoa Buying Center in Malu’u in North Malaita last week.
He said farmers must look forward to strife together with hope and collaborate with the National Government, Solomon Commodities and any development partner that is willing to work with Malaita to build a prosperous future.
“The sustainability of this CEMA buying centre needs our collaboration. Learning for past experiences, we must work together and be recommitted to setting a new pathway with a strong vision to enhance the marketing of our commodities so as to build and sustain our rural economy and in doing so, also contribute to national economic growth,” Premier Asilaua said.
“Let us all learn from our past experiences and prepare ourselves to capitalize on this momentous development to create a better future.
“Together we can ensure we all have the opportunity to fulfil God’s plan and purpose for our lives by working hand-in-hand with love and peace to develop our province towards a future of prosperity,” he added.
