THE Telekom S-League (TSL) defending champions Solomon Warriors have refocussed on regaining their top spot in the league’s standings after a crucial mid-week victory of 3-1 against SOSA FC.
Head Coach Franco Ne’e spoke of this objective to TSL media on Wednesday as he emphasized the importance of the refocus to defending their domestic title after an unsuccessful OFC Champions League campaign.
Ne’e expressed his satisfaction with the team’s quick recovery and preparation and attributed their success against SOSA FC to his players’ hard work and determination.
“We had only a day to get prepared to go back into action and picking up that win against SOSA FC was very important for us. It’s a win and I have to give all credit back to the boys for their effort,” he added.
The victory placed Solomon Warriors in the second position in the league standings, with a game in hand.
Ne’e also highlighted the significance of maintaining their winning momentum and that they will set their focus on both offensive and defensive improvements.
“Now we have to recover and get back to the drawing board to patch up our errors – Our finishing third and defence – and look forward to our next match this weekend,” he added.
Solomon Warriors are set to face FC Juniper Tree on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Lawson Tama Stadium.
A win in Match Week 7 could see them reclaim the top spot in the league, while current leaders Real Kakamora FC are expected to face a challenging match against Central Coast FC on Sunday.
