ABOUT 114 students of Tamlan secondary school in West Honiara have been challenged that their future is in their hands therefore they must value their education.
School principal Ester Geseni stressed this during the 2024 end year graduation and prize giving ceremony at Rove Police club on Friday.
The ceremony brought together families, friends, teachers, and guests to recognize and applaud the achievements of students as they mark a significant milestone in their educational journey.
The ceremony commenced with a traditional dance leading the graduants and guests parade confidently towards inside to the police club hall as the official ceremony begin with the inspiring speeches from school officials
The theme of the event was; ‘Create your future now and determine your destiny.’
Mrs Geseni said creating their future and determining their destiny is a powerful and transformative journey.
“It begins with the understanding that you are the architect of your life.
“It means the kind of futures you want is in your hands, whether good or bad. The first thoughts of decision and action you take now shapes the path ahead,” she said.
Ms Geseni said as they embark on this journey, remember that resilience is the key, challenge will arise but there are opportunity for growth.
She acknowledged the Tamlan School Director, Nichola Namo Kaua for her continued support to the school.
She also thanked the students, guardians and parents for working together with the school.
Ms Geseni also wish the students all the best in their upcoming exams.
Counsellor in the Embassy of Japan, Katsumasa Maruo was the main guest of honor.
