A training for participants, who will participate in the National Economic Establishment Census, NEEC, 2024 is currently underway.
This is the second training program for NEEC and is currently underway at the Western Provincial capital Gizo.
Participants from Western and Choiseul Province are attending it.
Chief Statistician Economics Andrew Kakate said, he is pleased with the progress of the program so far and commended the participants for grasping quite easily the information shared during the first day of training.
The first one was held for Honiara, Central, Guadalcanal and Ren-bel province participants which concluded last week.
The census training seeks to update the Statistical Business Register and serve as the foundation for all business statistics and Gross Domestic Estimates, GDP and SINSO is partnering with the Solomon Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the World Bank in the operation.
It is conducted under the Statistical Law (Amendment Act. 2007) and hence the business communities are legally obliged to cooperate and provide the requested information as complete and accurate as possible.
The NEEC falls under component 1 of the Building Capacity in Statistics and Audit, CAPSA project, a partnership between the Solomon Islands Government and World Bank.
