CHINA is looking forward to accomplish more milestone achievements with Solomon Islands under the China-Solomon Islands bilaterial cooperation.
PRC Ambassador Cai Weiming uttered this sentiment when interviewed after the signing of the Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for ordinary passport holders of Solomon Islands and China at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (OPMC) last Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Ambassador Cai and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Peter Shanel Agovaka.
Ambassador Cai dubbed the mutual visa exemption agreement signing as yet another milestone achievement under the five-year-old China-Solomon Islands bilaterial relations.
He said this milestone will have a win-win effect on both countries because it will allow more Chinese tourists to visit Solomon Islands and likewise allow Solomon Islanders to visit China and he looks forward to accomplishing more milestones with Solomon Islands.
The initial and ongoing milestone achievements under the Solomon Islands-China bilaterial relations and these include the Comprehensive Medical Center of the National Referral Hospital which is currently under construction, the National Broadband Infrastructures for Communication Towers which is also under construction, the Auki Road Tar-sealing Project that is about to start as engineers are already in Auki doing the design work and moreover, the National Stadium and other infrastructure facilities that enabled Solomon Islands to successfully host the 17th Pacific Games in Honiara.
Ambassador Cai said China is opening up its door to the whole world, creating a shared global community for mankind.
The ambassador said China still has so much work to do and it is really looking forward to more cooperation with Solomon Islands in the future.
