The Central Islands Provincial (CIP) Government has expressed its interest to host genuine business investments and part-take in national developments.
Central Islands Provincial Premier Michael Salini announced during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele on Wednesday morning, with the support of the Government for National Unity and Transformation, GNUT, Central Province is certain that genuine potential investors will be attracted to the Province.
Premier Salini said, the Central Islands Provincial Government is confident of the National Government’s Transformation policy and is ready to part-take in development opportunities.
Central Province pledged its support to the leadership and transformational priorities of Prime Minister Manele and the GNUT Government, underscored Premier Salini.
The premier added, priority investment sectors are tourism, agriculture and fisheries.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manele acknowledged the Central Islands Provincial Premier for believing in the Transformation that GNUT is driving.
PM Manele said, to demonstrate its transformational agenda, GNUT is increasing the Tourism Ministry’s budget for next year.
Government is also zeroing in its focus on fisheries, and agriculture.
Prime Minister Manele and Premier Salini also discussed broadly on the importance of National Unity, economy, provincial priorities, infrastructure and Savo volcano preparedness strategy.
On CIP’s request for an additional constituency, PM Manele said, this will be properly channelled through the Commission responsible for Constituency boundary.
The Prime Minister and CIP Premier also discussed investment opportunities, business partnerships and other benefits of the soon to be signed sister relations between Central Islands Province and a province in China.
