THE Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) will officially inaugurate its new Diocese of South Malaita and Sikaiana and consecrate of its new Diocesan Bishop Reverend Rickson Mamaoru.
This historic event will take place at St Barnabas Church in Sa’a, Small Malaita, Malaita Province on Sunday 24 November.
The local communities and parishioners are eagerly preparing for this momentous occasion.
The inauguration and consecration ceremony will mark a new chapter in the history of the Anglican Church in Malaita.
The consecration service will be attended by a distinguished guests from the country and abroad, including the Governor General Reverend Tiva Kapu.
The new Diocese of South Malaita and Sikaiana covers West Areare, East Areare, Small Malaita and Sikaiana island in the Malaita Outer Islands.
The community of Sa’a Village is honoured to host this event.
ACOM and the new diocese look forward to the continued growth and strengthening of the Christian faith in the region.
The newly established Diocese of South Malaita and Sikaiana will operate as a separate ecclesiastical entity within ACOM, effectively splitting from the existing diocese to form a distinct jurisdiction.
