TWO multimillion-dollar projects in Auki, Malaita province are progressing well.
The are the Kiluufi Hospital Improvement Project, funded by Japan, and the Auki Road Tar Sealing Project, funded by the Chinese government.
These projects are set to give Auki Town and Malaita Province a significant facelift once completed.
The Kiluufi Hospital Improvement Project now progressing with the foundation stage of the project.
While the Auki Tar Sealing Project, the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), is currently preparing the campsite, where offices and accommodations for workers will be built.
In support of these initiatives, Malaita Province government officials have visited the project sites to assess their progress.
The visit was led by Malaita Province Premier Elijah Asilaua and Provincial Secretary Erick George.
This was the first site visit conducted by the Malaita Province government Executive since the projects began.
The team first visited the Kiluufi Hospital Improvement site and later toured the campsite for the Auki Tar Sealing Project.
The government officials were briefed on the progress of both projects.
Premier Asilaua expressed his strong support for the major developments, noting their importance in serving the people of Malaita Province.
He expressed his satisfaction with the progress made on both projects and highlighted their future benefits.
“I am pleased to see the projects progressing well, as they will provide significant development for the people of Malaita in the future,” said Mr. Asilaua.
