THE new seaport terminal in Honiara marks a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to enhance the movement of passengers and goods and services across the nation.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele, in his remarks at the commissioning of the multi-million-dollar facility, highlighted the terminal’s role as a crucial gateway for both trade and community connection.
“This terminal is not just about improving the flow of goods and people, but also about strengthening the bonds between our communities and fostering long-term economic growth.”
“The terminal was designed to facilitate easier access for businesses, making it simpler for them to connect with suppliers and customers across Solomon Islands.
‘’As a gate way to Solomon Islands, it also serves as vital tools to attracting investors and visitors to our shores.
“Our people will find it easier to stay connected with loved ones and local businesses will grow as we create a more vibrant economic environment,” the Prime Minister underscored.
As a vital tool for attracting both investors and visitors, the seaport terminal positions Solomon Islands as a competitive player in the Pacific region.
Improved infrastructure is seen as essential to enticing foreign investments, including tourism, which are crucial for economic sustainability.
‘’The completion of the terminal is a step in right direction towards ensuring that Solomon Islands has the infrastructure needed to sustain and encourage economic activities for the years to come,” PM Manele added.
