Heavy showers over the weekend had resulted in the Maranatha Hall and Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) compound of the SDA Church in East Honiara being inundated with flood waters.
The country over the weekend experienced heavy showers.
Since Saturday night and well into Sunday morning parts of Honiara was also affected which had resulted in the main road leading up from the Burnscreek junction to SIM Compound, Solomon Power House and Betikama College being covered with flood waters.
Movement of residents and vehicles were restricted in the early part of Sunday morning until late Sunday after the water level slowly receded.
The flood had also left many plastic bottles stuck at the southern side of the Burnscreek culvert.
Some of the residents are delighted that the rain only lasted few hours, otherwise some of the areas would have been covered with rising water.
The country is currently within the cyclone season and the public had been advised to take extra precaution during this period.
