MALAITA Premier Elijah Asilaua has expressed gratitude to the Solomon Islands Postal Corporation (SIPC) for improving its services in Auki.
On Friday, the Solomon Post launched its new office building and services in Auki, marking a significant milestone in the provincial capital and the province.
Premier Asilaua commended the expanded postal services, which are now available not only in Honiara, but also in remote areas, connecting communities and promoting equal access to these services.
“I am delighted and sincerely thank the Solomon Islands Postal Corporation’s management for improving postal services that are now accessible to us here in Malaita,” he said.
He further highlighted that these services help bridge gaps in remote areas, making a meaningful contribution to daily life.
“This quality and diversified postal services not only serve Honiara but also reach our most remote regions, connecting vital parts of our daily lives and promoting social equality in access to information.”
The Premier is hopeful that the new Auki post office will continue to grow, benefiting more customers as social and economic infrastructure develop in the province.
“I am confident that our Auki post office will expand, creating opportunities for more customers as future infrastructure projects unfold,” he said.
Premier Asilaua also highlighted the potential of SIPC services fostering technological integration, particularly in the areas of e-commerce and digital financial services.
“With technology increasingly reshaping how we live, work, and trade, businesses are seeking effective online platforms to market and sell their products,” he said.
The premier added that consumers are increasingly turning to laptops and smartphones to research products, negotiate with vendors and make digital transactions, making e-commerce an essential part of modern life.
“As digital payments and trading continue to grow, these services are transforming how goods and services are exchanged,” he added.
