THE first prize winner of the Soltuna Mega Prize Draw, Melody Turelyn from Malaita has described her win as ‘a life-changing event.’
“When I heard my name announced, I was in a state of disbelief. I was just could not believe that I have won $50,000.00 It’s a life changing event for me,” Mrs Turelyn told Solomon Star during the prize presentation to three Mega Prize winners at the SolTuna Head Office at Ranadi in Honiara on Monday.
She recalled that, “I was hesitant to join the Soltuna promotion at first. I used to ignore the advertisements splashed across local newspapers and billboards. However, as time passed, my mind shifted. I started collecting the tuna labels from Taiyo cans each time I purchase them for our family meals.”
Mrs Turelyn said her friends often poke fun of her about her newfound endeavour.
“They joked that the promotion was just a scam. We would all laugh together, but deep down in my heart, I kind of strongly belief that luck will come my way.”
Mrs Turelyn said she was at work when she was told that she was the first prize winner of the SolTuna Mega Prize Draw.
“I was at work when my phone rang,” she recounted with tears of joy.
“At first, I hesitated to answer. The call was from an unknown number and hence my hesitation. But my instinct made me pick up the call. The voice on the other end burst with excitement, stating, Congratulations, Melody! You’ve won the first prize of $50,000 from the Soltuna Mega Prize Draw!.”
“I was in shock and found it hard to believe at first. Then I prayed silently, wanting to ensure the incredible news was real and it was.”
Mrs Turelyn said when she shared news with her friends, their disbelief only heightened her excitement.
“They couldn’t understand it! My heart raced faster than my breath. This is truly a blessing and I thank God for it,” she said.
Mrs Turelyn thanked Soltuna for the life-changing prize.
“Thank you so much for this incredible cash prize! This is such a significant amount of money for me and I see it as a true blessing from God.”
She said the money will not only transform her life and enable her to support her mother back home.
“I can now be able to fulfill my family dreams. This money will help us address our essential needs, such as building a house and paying for the school fees of my kids. It will also enable me to support my mother back in the village,” Mrs Turelyn said with a smile.
As Mrs Turelyn embarks on an exciting new chapter in her life, she stands as a powerful testament to the enduring spirit of hope and remarkable opportunities that can arise in the most unexpected ways.
The Soltuna Mega Cash Prize official handing over of prizes for the three winners was conducted by the Marketing Manager Kenwood Harry.
The Second Prize winner is Gibson Ravea. He received a cash prize of $30,000.00.
The Third Prize winner is Derick Ouou, who received a cash prize worth $20,000.00.
