President of Singapore, His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam acknowledges the cordial relationship with Solomon Islands and offers assurance to assist in areas of development.
He expressed this when the country’s Governor-General, His Excellency Reverend David Tiva Kapu paid a courtesy call on him on Tuesday 18th February 2025.
During the audience, the President welcomed the Governor-General (GG) and his delegation to Singapore and congratulated him on his knighthood to be conferred by His Majesty King Charles III in London next week.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam said, he acknowledged the cordial relationship between the two countries.
He further assured His Excellency of Singapore’s commitment to assist in the development aspirations of Solomon Islands in areas including tourism, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and other development aspirations.
In response, His Excellency the Governor-General thanked the President for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to have an audience with him.
The Governor-General also acknowledged the cordial relationship between the two countries and looked forward to greater cooperation in the future.
