Prime Minister (PM) Jeremiah Manele on Monday visited the Friendship Hall and the Aquatic Center ahead of the 2025 Honiara Summit to see the set up of the venue and to ensure that it is in order before the opening ceremony this morning.
The Deputy Secretary to Prime Minister, Salana Kalu said, as the host government to this very important summit, the Prime Minister has to ensure that the venues are in place and that everything will run smoothly for the four-days event.
He added that the Prime Minister has been briefed about the layout of the summit over the past week and he is happy about it.
The Prime Minister will be participating in a number of different sessions including the official start of the Summit this morning at the Friendship Hall.
The Prime Minister hosted a welcome dinner at the Kitano Mendana Hotel last night.
Delegates have been arriving in Honiara since Saturday and some others will still be arriving this morning, including the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape.
