THE Member of Parliament (MP) for Malaita Outer Islands (MOI), Polycarp Paea and one of his Constituency Officers held a landmark meeting with the Australian High Commissioner Rod Hilton and his officials to discuss potential development initiatives for the constituency.
The first of its kind for MOI, the meeting focused on securing funding support for key projects, including a new constituency vessel and community partnership initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of communities in the constituency.
The MOI Constituency Forum expressed excitement over the discussions, highlighting the potential for growth and development in the constituency.
“Today marks a significant milestone for the MOI Constituency. MP Paea, along with his Constituency Development Officer (CDO) and Project Team, had the honour of hosting the Australian High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Rod Hilton and his team at the soon-to-be-opened MOI Constituency Development Office.
“The discussions included potential funding support for a new vessel to serve the constituency and various community partnership projects that are set to benefit the people of MOI,” the forum announced.
Responding to the announcement, the former Malaita Provincial Assembly Member for Ward 31, John Kehosi congratulated MP Paea.
“Congratulations Honourable Polycarp Paea on this great accomplishment. May God bless you and your powerful team,” Mr Kehosi said.
