OPERATOR of Haodaikirio Homestay in the central highlands of Kwara’ae, Malaita Province, Steven Misiosi has called for increased collaboration between tourism operators and the government to help strengthen the national tourism industry.
Mr Misiosi made the call in his presentation at the Tourism in Focus 2025 summit in Honiara last week.
The summit brought together key leaders, operators and stakeholders from the tourism sector.
A relatively new operator in the tourism industry, Mr Misiosi shared his personal experiences, achievements and challenges.
“It was an insightful and informative event that emphasised the importance of enhancing collaboration across various sectors. As we strive for a more unified industry, the summit underscores our collective goal of fostering growth in tourism in the Solomon Islands,” Mr Misiosi said.
Mr Misiosi expressed gratitude to Tourism Solomons for organising the event, which he said gave him the opportunity to participate.
“I feel honoured to be part of this event, which is crucial in expanding the tourism market,” Mr Misiosi added.
Haodaikirio Homestay is the only active tourism establishment in the central highlands of Kwara’ae. It is located in the picturesque Adima Village.
