THE Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) has rolled out sanitation projects in four constituencies in the Western Province.
These are Gizo-Kolombangara Constituency, Rannogah-Simbo Constituency, South Vella Constituency and North Vella Constituency.
The projects are part of the National Sustainable Sanitation Project (NSSP).
Speaking to Solomon Star in an interview last Friday, ADRA Western Province Project Manager, Vema Kiko said they have deployed two workers from RWASH to each constituency to assist with the construction of the sanitation projects.
She said the construction work will take one month and will involve raising the culvert, sanitation house construction and making of the Satopan toilets.
So far, Ms Kiko said 123 communities on Simbo have been declared as NOD
She said the celebration of this milestone is yet to be held as they will have to await other project recipient communities to complete their projects.
Apart from NSSP, Ms Kiko said ADRA also focuses on Ward Development Community (WDC) Members engagement and the rolling out of the Institution Triggering for Church leaders.
ADRA’s work in the Western Province is made possible through partnerships with local authorities, international donors like the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australian and dedicated volunteers.
