THE former Solomon Islands National U19 prodigy forward and Henderson Eels forward Jimson Abana, who recently joined the Fijian Extra Premier League side Labasa FC, has marked his name with a total of 5 goals in his two debut matches.
Abana, in just his first two appearances with Labasa FC, already marked his name with a total of 5 goals, helping the Labasa FC to lead the Fiji Extra Premier League table with 7 points after 3 matches played.
In his first appearance with the club after sealing his contact, Abana scored a hat-trick in their 6-0 victory over the Extra Premier League newcomers Tavua FC.
Last weekend, Abana scored another two goals for Labasa FC in their 4-1 win over Lautoka FC, helping Labasa FC to maintain their position at the top of the Extra Premier League standing table with 7 points.
Abana told Star Sport in an interview that he was very happy to have scored 5 goals in just his first two appearances with his new club.
He said to score in his first two matches for his new club is something he is proud of and promised to work even harder to improve and do even better in upcoming matches.
Abana was a prodigy forward for the Henderson Eels FC in the Telekom Super League last season. He started with the Honiara City U19 in 2023 and later joined the Solomon Warriors U19 before joining the TSL side Henderson Eels last season.
With his exceptional talent, he was further recognised with his inclusion in the Solomon Islands National U19 team last year for the OFC U19 qualifiers. Solomon Islands fell short of securing the qualifying spot.
The 20-year-old was also a key player in the Solomon Islands National Development Team in the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Minister’s (PM’s) Cup in Honiara last December.
During his appearances with his Solomon Islands clubs, National U19 Team and the National Development Team, Abana performed with exceptional quality despite the match results.
