THE former Solomon Islands National U19 prodigy forward and Henderson Eels forward Jimson Abana, who recently joined the Fijian Extra Premier League side Labasa FC, has scored a hat-trick during his debut for the club last Saturday.
Abana, in his first match with the Labasa FC, marked his name with 3 goals in a 6-0 victory over the Extra Premier League newcomers Tavua FC at the Subrail Park.
Abana moved to Fiji early last week, joining the red Lions following his signing up with the Fijian side for the 2025/2026 season.
Labasa FC signed young Abana to bolster their attacking force and he proved his worth in his first match with the club, contributing to their first 3 points for the season.
Abana told Star Sport in an interview yesterday from Fiji that he was very happy to have scored the hat-trick in his debut for his Fijian club.
He said to score in his debut for his new club was something that he was proud of and that he will work even harder to do even better in their upcoming matches.
Abana was a prodigy forward who joined the Henderson Eels FC in the Telekom Super League for the last season. He started with the Honiara City U19 in 2023 and went on to join the Solomon Warriors U19 before joining the TSL side Henderson Eels.
Abana’s exceptional quality saw him included in the Solomon Islands National U19 team last year for the OFC U19 qualifiers, but they fell short of securing a qualifying spot.
The 20-year-old was also a key player in the Solomon Islands National Development Team for the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Minister’s (PM’s) Cup in Honiara.
During his appearances with his club and the National U19 Team and the National development Team, he performed exceptionally well despite their losses.
