A MAN who was remanded for simple larceny has asked the court to release him on bail so that he could see his family who were hit by last week’s flooding at Koa Hill settlement, Honiara.
George Gei, 30, of Guadalcanal said he lost some of his relatives in the flood and wants the court to bail him.
He said he wanted to go and see family and relatives who lost loved ones during the flood.
Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika however, told him to secure a lawyer to help him apply for bail.
Gei told the court that he has already filled out 10 request forms but have received no feed backs as of yet.
Magistrate Seuika adjourned the matter to April 16 for Gei to liaise with the Correctional Centre to make a request to the Public Solicitor’s Office for a lawyer.
Gei is facing one count of simple larceny for allegedly stealing chemicals owned by the Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Limited (GPPOL).
