THE court has granted bail on Friday for the man who allegedly uploaded a nude picture of his former de-factor partner on the internet.
The 32-year-old Guadalcanal man has been released on a surety bail of $600.
His surety would be the one who paid the cash.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the Complainant, will appear again in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court again on March 20.
The defence has requested disclosures in relation to providing the website on which the accused allegedly uploaded the nude photo of the Complainant.
Prosecution in a previous court hearing stated that they will need an IT person to do that and have made a request for that.
However, that is yet to be done and hopefully will be done before the next court hearing.
Police charged the accused with traffic in obscene publication for allegedly uploading the nude picture.
The accused is also facing a common assault charge and assaulting a police officer.
Police alleged that on 15 March, 2013, he assaulted his partner at their home.
It was alleged that his partner then left the accused and on 2 October, 2014 police alleged the accused uploaded a nude picture of his former partner on a Face book page.
The alleged victim saw the nude picture on the internet and allegedly knew her former partner was responsible for uploading it.
She then reported the matter to the Henderson Police and on 27 October, 2014 police caught up with the accused at Chinatown.
The accused allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted one of the police officers who made the arrest.
The Public Solicitor’s Office is representing the accused while the Police Prosecutions appeared for the State.
