A hunt is underway for three suspects who allegedly removed a Church owned 60hp Yamaha outboard motor (OBM) engine at Yacht club area in Point Cruz, Honiara on Friday afternoon.
The OBM is owned by the Anglican Church of Melanesian (ACOM) Church Education Provider to be used in its work.
In a statement the Education Secretary Desmond Waita said, the OBM was removed on Friday afternoon by a group of boys.
He is appealing to members of the public who may have seen the suspects or know them. He said, providing information to them about the suspects is also important.
“ACOM Education Provider 60 horse Yamaha engine was stolen on Friday 14th March between 2-3pm in the afternoon at the Point Cruz, Yacht club area.
“If you have any information regarding this, please contact 7421733 ([email protected]).”
He said, sources stated that three boys were involved.
“They came in a white Caldina – taxi and removed the OBM from the boat. One of the boys had a white hair,” he said.
