MORE than 80 teachers serving under the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Education Authority in Western Province have successfully completed a weekend retreat at Kukudu camp ground on Kolombangara.
The program was held from Friday 31st February to Sunday 2nd March.
The education office under the leadership of Western sub-regional associate education director Andriane Kele along with other facilitators conducted the training.
The aim of the retreat was to allow the education authority to provide an opportunity for all teachers to be able to recommit, reinstall, refocus, redevelop and reengage to Adventist ethos and identity in quest for integrity.
Adventist teachers serving in a number of Adventist operated primary and secondary schools in Gizo, Kolombangara, Ranoggah, Vella and Boeboe in VonaVona Lagoon came together for the program.

The retreat featured six sessions on various topics. The sessions provided opportunities for both the primary and secondary teachers to be challenged and reminded about the quest for integrity inorder to maintain Adventist ethos and identity in Adventist Schools through living, initiating, developing, walking, valuing and sharing.
The topics included;
- Living Integrity: Living Adventist schools wellness.
- Initiating Integrity: Initiating effective Bible teaching
- Developing Integrity: Developing the special character of Adventist Schools.
- Walking Integrity: Walking the quality Adventist School of framework
- Valuing Integrity: Valuing essential characteristics of Adventist schools.
- Sharing Integrity: Sharing best practise that work.

The retreat concluded with a certificate presentation to all participants. Most of the teachers have expressed satisfaction after attending the retreat.
The retreat came after the education conference in Fulton, Nadi, Fiji early this year where Adventist teachers from around region got together for a weeklong program which focused on similar topics.
The teachers also enjoyed a bung lunch together after the Divine Service on Sabbath.
A similar training will be held this weekend for Adventist teachers in Choiseul Province.
