MORE than 20 young adventurers from District SDA Church and Tisi Home Church in Gizo town, Western Province held a successful combine induction program over the weekend.
The induction program is to officially open the children’s activities for this year.
The program kicked off with a procession led by the young children into the church followed with singing of the Adventurers theme song and formal welcome and announcement of the program proper.
Adventurers program caters for young children between the ages of 4-9. They were divided into four groups namely Little Lamb, Busy Bee, Builders and Helping Hand.
During the program a number of Adventurers teachers have also taken their pledge to support the work of Adventurers this year.
Adventurers who are continuing this year have also renewed their vow during the program. New intakes also took their vow during the ceremony.
Guest speaker during the Minister Charles Dimu offered the dedicatory prayer to the children and their teachers.
In his key note address at the ceremony, he challenged the young children to be like little Samuel who hears the call from God during his sleep.
He said, its important to listen to God’s call and be humble to serve the church and the community.
Minister Dimu added as Adventurers they must be willing to listen and help their parents when they are called to do something.
At the induction, the Adventurers executive appealed for support from the parents and guardians.
It was explained to them, that Adventurers program is like a school where the young ones are able to develop their characters and will become future members and leaders of the church.
Thus, its important to nurture them at the very young age.
For this year a number of programs are being planned for the Adventurers. Apart from their normal weekend programs there will be other activities like, get to know program, talent night, fun games, visitation to hospital, camp outs, cooking class and others.
Registration for adventurers is now open and those interested can sign up.
Meanwhile, the induction for youths and pathfinders for the two churches will be held this coming weekend.
