AILAKO was crowned the futsal champions after winning the futsal final of the competition organised to mark the Malaita Day last week.
A total of 21 teams took part on the tournament which attracted a huge number of spectators during the games.
The week-long tournament has four pools.
After the pool matches, all four pool winners qualified for the semi-finals.
The first semi-final which saw Ailako Green ontop after beating the Eels in an equally fought with a narrow goal margin of 1-0.
Another semi-final was between Santos Yellow and DFC Maroons. Santos got away with the point in the 3-1 game.
In the losers final, Eels comfortably booked the third spot after beating the DFC Maroons.
In the grand final match which attracted even a larger crowd, Ailako Green displayed some fine futsal skills, fitness and confidence and got away with the crown with a goal margin of 2-0 against rivals Santos.
Speaking during the prize presentation last Saturday, president of Auki Futsal Association Terry Oiaka said, thankled the sponsors JN fuel depot and assured fans that the futsal league will commence soon.
The first prize of the competition was $1000, second $600 and third $400.
