Solomon Airlines will mark its 52nd year of national airline service today with the official opening of its new Travel Centre at the Tongs building in Point Cruz.
In addition, the airline is offering 25 per cent discount on airfares on all domestic routes for a limited time as already advertised in the media.
Heralding the event as a significant milestone in the national carrier’s history, CEO Ron Sumsum said the opening of the new facility was a key indicator of Solomon Airlines’ strategic plan going forward and a further streamlining of its ongoing operational strategy to ensure efficiency and productivity.
“To stay in step with current market trends and practices, the Panatina Plaza Travel Centre has been closed and now amalgamated with our Point Cruz office to create a one stop shop for our customers and at the same time, transform our service to community through our innovative customer service practices,” Captain Sumsum said.
“In this day and age, technology dictates almost every facet of our lives and likewise, our New Travel Centre will be manned with highly motivated, friendly and supportive staff operating in a state of the art services/office environment tailored specifically to cater for our Belama club members as well as the general travelling public.”
Acknowledging the continued support rendered by the national government, valued clients and the travelling public to the airline over the last 52 years, Captain Sumsum said he hoped the partnership will continue as Solomon Airlines steps into another decade of service to the nation.

The new Solomon Airlines Travel Centre is open Monday to Friday between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm and on Saturday from 0800-1130 am together with the airline’s international and domestic sales offices and corporate head office service administration centre at Henderson Airport.
